“The first step towards change is awareness, the second step is acceptance” ~Nathaniel Branden. Awareness is crucial for becoming aware of who we are, there must be the awakening within our minds about the good things which shape our lives. Udaaan Aasma Tak understands the importance of awareness and hence timely conduct camps regarding various issues including personal as well as social which have a direct impact on our lives. The last year was full of such events. Our Mathura unit volunteers did an excellent job to leave no stone unturned. The volunteers visited door to door in the Ajhai Village of Mathura to allure the kids to come to Udaaan classes and also gave a thousand reasons to their parents to ensure that their kids will not drop out of school. Another great and bold move was about the use of sanitary pads. We not only tried to break the silence but also built an awareness of the fundamental role that a good menstrual hygiene management (MHM) plays in enabling woman and girl to reach their full potential. Our mission is to educate children’s and also make them responsible and better citizens of tomorrow who are independent and fully capable to discriminate between good or bad. So we took the burning topics of Asifa Bano and taught the kids about the good and bad touches. In this process we were sometimes opposed, we were questioned, but keeping our heads above all these trifle matters we kept on doing what was right. We believe the road to our dreams isn’t easy to navigate, even we feel like quitting we just remember this; “anything worth having doesn’t come easy”
